Composite steel-concrete structure for the passages and the largest bicycle parking facility in Vienna
TMETAL supplies over 500 tonnes of steel structures for The Marks, a three-tower complex in Vienna. These include connecting passages and parking spaces for 2,000 bicycles. They are part of a mobility concept featuring 27 e-charging stations, car-sharing options, e-scooters and bike rental services.
We deliver this project including the structural solution using a unique — and entirely new for TMETAL — technology for combining concrete and steel structures, the so-called composite steel-concrete construction. This approach increases structural strength while reducing capital expenditure. At TMETAL a new mobile workstation was developed for the resistance welding of shear studs onto the steel structure.
For The Marks we previously supplied balconies to one of the towers (visible in the photographs). This complex, comprising 1,200 apartments, student housing, retail units, kindergartens and additional services, was scheduled to begin opening in 2023.
