Looking back on shared experiences in 2025 that strengthen the TMETAL team

Together we form a team of dedicated professionals with a shared goal, which is why TMETAL has been long-term successful in the world of steel structures.

Buildings and machines can basically be bought by anyone. But assembling a team of hardworking people who are genuinely passionate about the field is a rare achievement.

That is why we highly value that at TMETAL we have a stable workforce led by no fewer than six “stalwarts” who have been committed to the company for more than 25 years.

In 2025 we reinforced the solid relationships and relaxed atmosphere within the team through a variety of company events, which we will briefly review now.

Winter fun at the Studénka stadium

In March 2025 it was time to “lace up skates and pull on hats!” For the third time TMETAL rented the entire Studénka ice rink for 1.5 hours exclusively for our people so that employees, families and management could fully enjoy winter activities together.

More than 60 skaters showed up on the ice, confirming that this event is very popular within the company.

“I always get genuine joy when I see everyone enjoying shared moments. The youngest cheer from their prams, and the slightly older children, under the careful supervision of parents and grandparents, are already bravely speeding across the ice,” adds TMETAL managing director Jan Surovič.

Skating skills were tested by a cone slalom. On the other side of the ice, players were fully enjoying the Czech national sport – hockey.

Through a charitable challenge we contributed CZK 75,000 to three children with health disadvantages from the area

Arianka, Julinka and Šimonek are wonderful children from our region who unfortunately face health complications in their lives. For that reason TMETAL, in cooperation with the association Srdce na pravém místě, provided support to these families via DONIO.

A fundraising walking challenge on behalf of TMETAL was attended by 35 people who showed they truly have their hearts in the right place.

Altogether, over two months we walked and ran 13,954 km. In addition, we added further kilometers (and donations) from a joint ascent of Lysá hora and 280 completed laps around the oval at our family day.

TMETAL’s contribution amounted to CZK 75,000. Thanks to the combined efforts of other companies, organizations and donors, the target was met to nearly 120%, meaning a total of CZK 409,017 was raised for the three medically disadvantaged children.

The traditional climb to Lysá hora

The popular tradition of collective ascents to Lysá hora (1,324 m above sea level) began nine years ago. We believe it will continue going forward.

On the way to the summit we were briefly caught by a light rain, but it did not dampen our spirits. The weather soon cleared, allowing us to enjoy nature, beautiful views and a bit of sunshine.

“About 50 of us gathered – employees, their families and four-legged companions… a proper group. Personally, I was glad that for the first time my siblings joined the climb to Lysá hora – Peter Surovič and Klára Surovičová, as well as our father Juraj Surovič,” adds TMETAL managing director Jan Surovič.

Hiking also gives people a chance to get to know each other beyond the purely professional context. During the shared walk there is ample time for informal, relaxed conversation about anything.

Trip to Poland to see the unique Srdce Poroninu skywalk

When we work on a project, we know every drawing, weld, screw and component in detail. This time we were able to see with our own eyes a unique structure of world-class parameters built using our steel constructions.

We visited Poland before the official opening of the Srdce Poroninu skywalk, so we could enjoy everything calmly and without tourist queues.

The solution of a circular viewing platform suspended 47 meters above the ground is unrivaled. The largest glass terrace in the EU also offers a unique 360° panoramic view of the entire Tatra range – from peaks reaching the clouds down to picturesque valleys.

Adventurous visitors can play on a special 40-meter-high “spider” playground and then slide down two toboggans each 75 meters long.

Srdce Poroninu was designed and built by the Czech company TAROS NOVA a.s., and TMETAL had the honor to contribute to the project by supplying the steel structures. Tubular elements, unconventional angles and quality requirements represented real engineering challenges that are difficult to imagine outside the sector.

Seeing this architectural gem was an amazing experience for all of us. It is no surprise that since summer 2025 the Srdce Poroninu has been attracting visitors from around the world.

Bouncy castle, live music and entertainment at TMETAL family day

We achieve success worldwide, but we definitely do not suffer from “star attitudes.” We remain true to the DNA of a Czech family company from the small municipality of Fryčovice with just under 2,500 inhabitants. Therefore we celebrated TMETAL’s 30th anniversary on the local football pitch — thank you to the Fryčovice Sokol association for hosting us.

Our celebration was very much in our style: music, a bouncy castle, competitions, a variety of treats and, most importantly, our employees, families and friends.

This year’s family day also brought many symbolic moments. One was the ceremonial handover of an imaginary baton from the former company leadership. Aleš Pavlín and Libor Mohyla completed an honorary lap on the oval to pass the “baton” to the new company managing director Jan Surovič.

This moment also symbolically launched a charitable relay for a good cause, in which employees, families and children participated. Everyone ran, walked and rode kick scooters with tireless enthusiasm until late evening.

For each completed TMETAL lap the company donated CZK 50 to support Arianka, Julinka and Šimonek. Thanks to that, CZK 14,000 was collected at the family day. The best part? Šimonek and his family attended in person and he cheerfully completed a lap.

It was a perfect finale for TMETAL’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

We cooperate with schools to introduce students to modern manufacturing

In recent years this challenge has affected almost every company in the Czech Republic and across Europe: reliable workers are in short supply.

That is why TMETAL cooperates with several schools to demonstrate to students how modern manufacturing works — an industry that will remain promising and well-remunerated in the coming years.

For example, in June 2025 we hosted students from Slovakia. During a two-week internship they saw how a product is created from cut-offs and profile cutting to the completed steel structure.

Students also observed classic locksmith and welding work in a real production environment and personally tried preparing sheets (Durostat, Hardox and others) on a modern bending press.

Of course, traditional “black” work such as grinding and manual drilling was not missing either.

Such an approach at TMETAL makes sense to us: don’t wait for miracles, put your hand to the work. Inspire, motivate and show young people a path to well-paid employment in a forward-looking sector.

Vitamins for steel-strong health

Delivering top-quality work every day is not easy, especially when days shorten in autumn and inclement weather and colds arrive.

At TMETAL we decided to make this gloomy season a little easier for our people, so we gave every employee a small package of vitamins to support immunity.

We manufacture structures from steel, and we want our colleagues to enjoy steel-strong health as well.

Festive year-end closing and opening of the park Roots of TMETAL

This year’s traditional year-end closing ceremony was held as well. Employee recognition for the work done took place on 19 December 2025. As in previous years, a festive lunch, varied entertainment and an abundant evening buffet were prepared.

This year’s event also featured something special — the unveiling of a surprise for former company executives of TMETAL.

“We wanted something that will remain here. Something that will grow. And something that will constantly remind us of TMETAL’s values,” said managing director Jan Surovič at the ceremonial opening of the park poetically named Roots of TMETAL.

With a small park of three trees we symbolically pay tribute to three TMETAL personalities — Mr. Pavlín, Mr. Mohyla and, not least, the “founder father” Mr. Tyleček.

They were the ones who took responsibility, made difficult decisions, worked hard and moved the company forward step by step for nearly 30 tireless years.

Thanks to that dedication, TMETAL is today a respected supplier of steel structures in the Czech Republic, Europe and worldwide.

“I would like this place to remind visitors that the success of our company is primarily made up of people, their commitment and honest, well-executed work,” concludes Jan Surovič, underlining TMETAL’s core values.
