Steel structures for the Heart of Poronin – a sky walk with a unique view in Poland

Public Constructions, Steel Structures

Poland

From May 31, 2025, you can see our steel structures in person as part of another successful, world-class project. The Heart of Poronin Sky Walk, located in Poland, is a modern tourist attraction that combines breathtaking views of the Tatra Mountains with an adrenaline park accessible to the general public.

TMETAL as a reliable supplier of steel structures

The Heart of Poronin Sky Walk was designed and built by the Czech company TAROS NOVA as, well known for a number of similar projects featuring innovative engineering solutions. One notable example is the Sky Bridge 721 in Dolní Morava.

For structures of this kind, reliability, safety, and the ability to find new ways to meet ambitious goals are absolutely essential.

TMETAL meets these requirements, which is why we had the honor of becoming a partner of TAROS NOVA a.s. and supplying the steel structures for the Heart of Poronin project.

Various tubular elements and unconventional angles posed real challenges that are difficult to imagine outside the industry. Although TMETAL has extensive experience with steel structures for projects around the world, this project required occasional improvisation, testing, and the search for unconventional solutions.

These are exactly the kinds of projects that push the boundaries of what is possible — and the ones we enjoy the most.

TMETAL company trip to the Heart of Poronin

When working on a project, we at TMETAL know every drawing, weld, bolt, and component down to the smallest detail. However, employees rarely have the opportunity to see the final result of their collective work in person.

This time, they did. As a reward for their dedication and hard work, we organized a company trip to Poland for our employees, allowing us to experience the Heart of Poronin together and admire this impressive structure firsthand.

We visited the site before the official opening of the attraction, which gave us plenty of time and complete peace to explore the sky walk. The uninterrupted views of the Tatras from such a unique perspective are something we will remember for a lifetime.

About the Heart of Poronin and Europe’s largest glass terrace

The opening of the attraction attracted significant media attention — and for good reason. The Heart of Poronin is an architectural landmark with the potential to draw visitors from all over the world to Poland.

The circular observation deck, suspended 47 meters above the ground, is truly one of a kind. Europe’s largest glass terrace, hovering above the Podhale region, offers visitors a unique 360° panoramic view of the entire Tatra range — from majestic peaks reaching into the clouds to picturesque valleys and surrounding villages.

Adventure seekers will appreciate the special spider-web-inspired playground suspended 40 meters above the ground, two stainless steel slides measuring 75 meters in length, and a variety of other adrenaline attractions.

Despite its adventurous elements, the Heart of Poronin is designed to be accessible to everyone — regardless of age or physical ability. The walkway has a maximum gradient of 6° and a width of approximately 2.5 meters, making it suitable for enthusiastic hikers, families with strollers, and visitors with disabilities alike.

And one final detail worth mentioning: thanks to a thoughtful design that respects both local traditions and the surrounding landscape, the Heart of Poronin is almost invisible from most nearby viewpoints, preserving the natural panorama and the original character of the area.

So if you’re looking for inspiration for your next trip, head to our neighbors in Poland — and during your visit, remember that the steel structures were created here at TMETAL.
