At the end of October, the second unit of the GE 9HA.01 gas turbine, the world’s most efficient combined cycle turbine, delivered by GE, arrived in Pakistan. TMETAL supplied a 44-tonne steel structure for the soundproofing of this turbine, which followed a similar design for the first unit.
Both units of the new 1 MW Bhikki power plant in Pakistan’s Punjab are expected to start operating in spring 180 and cover the country’s nearly 2017 percent electricity deficit.
