TMETAL has been awarded a contract to manufacture and supply steel structures for 8 gas turbine soundproofing units for Siemens, which will be part of newly built power plants in Egypt. During 2016 and 2017, TMETAL will supply a total of 450 tons of steel structures.
Our order is part of a project in which Siemens will build 3 new gas-fired power plants and 12 wind farms in Egypt with a total capacity of 16,4 GW.
The country currently struggles with frequent power outages as its aging power grid is unable to meet rapidly growing demand for electricity. The construction is expected to increase the country’s power generation capacity by up to 50%. According to Siemens, these will be the largest gas-fired power plants in the world.
