Our structure will be part of a petrochemical complex that will begin construction in the northeastern United States near Lake Erie in late 2017. Shell’s new complex will include 3 polyethylene production units, a wastewater treatment plant, a water cooling facility, and other buildings and storage. It will also include its own 250MW power plant with 3 turbines to provide electricity and steam to local operations.
The final product of the entire complex will be polyethylene pellets with a planned annual production of 1,6 million tons, from which plastics for everyday products are produced. Polyethylene is produced from ethane, which is separated from liquid natural gas. A by-product will be, for example, light gasoline.
We supply a steel structure for 3 units, each weighing 30 tons. Manufactured according to EN 1090-2 EXC 2 including engineering according to American standards, hot-dip galvanized.
