Steel Structures

For the construction of the new Sydney metro line, TMETAL is supplying steel tower structures on which conveyors for removing rubble during tunnel construction are placed. The supply includes complete engineering – statics, design, production and assembly documentation, production including surface treatment and containerized overseas packaging. So far in 2018, we have supplied over 400 tons of steel structures for the construction of the metro around Chatswood and Marrickville stations.

Sydney Metro is building new infrastructure to increase train service capacity across Sydney from the current 120 trains per hour to 200 trains per hour by 2024. The plan is to build a 15,5km new parallel line between Chatswood and Marrickville, with modern metro stations to enable faster and safer passenger services. Five drilling rigs will be required to build the tunnels on this section, which also runs under Sydney Harbour.
